iMatter As A Health And Social Carer

iMatter As A Health And Social Carer

Year 7

Year 8

Year 9

I will explore the health and social care services and how they meet the needs of real service users. I will develop my practical skills in applying the care values to client scenarios. I will learn the importance of the set of ‘care values’ existing in order to enable people who use health and social care services to get the care they need and the necessary protection from different sorts of harm. I will understand the importance of this duty of care as law binding from the practitioner and service.

Year 10

I will explore how individuals develop over the six life-stages, from birth until death; investigating how life events, family and choices impact upon them and their health and well-being. I will learn about how people cope with major events and which formal services are available to support them. I will explore the barriers to accessing welfare services and I will study the care value base that forms the legal duties of a care worker.

Year 11

I will learn what ‘being healthy’ is holistically and explore the factors that influence health, in order to plan for improving the quality of life of their clients. Furthermore, I will develop the written skills to design plans for improving the health of individuals. This forms my controlled assessment work, where I will be required to respond to a given scenario and create short and long term plans to support and improve the health and well-being of a case study client.

INTENT

iMatter as a Health and Social Carer because I will be equipped with the skills needed to care for others in a broad range of settings, flexible enough to suit many fields of health and social care and public services: from working with people with learning disabilities, to caring for people with dementia or supporting disabled children. I will appreciate the importance of our welfare services and the values of the health and social care sector that employs one in ten of our working population.
