Year 10 Autumn

Component 1 - Human Lifespan Development.

Learners will investigate how, in real situations, human development is affected by different factors and that people deal differently with life events; both expected and unexpected.

Written assessments are of a high quality and build on the knowledge, understanding and skills acquired and developed in Component 1.

The assessment is based on a live case study. Students will assess an individual’s health and well-being, drawing on their understanding of life events and how to adapt to them.

Students will complete the two official Btec assignments towards the set grade criteria for Component 1.

This will be internally assessed initially and externally moderated.

Year 10 Spring

Real Life Interviews - Significant Life Events

This unit focuses on the factors that affect health and well-being. The effects of various factors on the physical, intellectual, emotional and social(PIES) needs of a person.

Students will learn how to design a health and well-being improvement plan and understand how obstacles that can prevent individuals from accessing the plan can be overcome.

Written assessments are of a high quality and build on the knowledge, understanding and skills acquired and developed in Components 1 and 2.

The assessment is based on a case study. Students will assess an individual’s health and well-being, drawing on their understanding of life events.

Students will complete the two official Btec assignments towards the set grade criteria for Component 3.

This will be internally assessed initially and externally moderated.

Students will complete the official controlled assessment.
