Component 1 - Preparation

On our return to school, you will be starting your Component One – Devising project.
Lockdown has changed the way we are able to function currently.
There is a very good chance that it
will also affect the way you are able to take your exams next year.
Write and annotate a monologue
about what has happened this year, either as you or a generated character.
You could end up having to
perform this as an exam piece so think about how you could perform this and get the best possible
mark for conception and performance.

Please video (or ask a family member to video) your solo performance.
If you have finished a piece – that’s fantastic! Please video the entire performance and email to me (it will send as a google drive link).
If you haven’t finished – that is fine. Please video your rehearsal – it is helpful to show the parts that you are struggling with, so don’t shy away from these.
This will show the examiner how you deal with those tricky aspects, as you focus on them and practise them. Later, when you have finished the piece, they will see your progress. Good luck, and thank you!
