Daily Update

Dear Parents / Carers,

School Provision for Children of Critical Workers / Vulnerable Children

Thank you all for your support today. Due to all parents / carers being able to keep their children at home today, I was able to close the school and hence further protect our staff and families.   As no critical worker has contacted me regarding support, I am assuming that we will not have any students in school for the rest of this week.  However, if your circumstances change, please contact me directly - dmckeown@thedeanes.essex.sch.uk .  Thank you for heeding the Government's guidance to Stay At Home - Protect the NHS - Save Lives.

Distance Learning

Thank you for your messages about the Distance Learning.  It is great to read that our students are actively engaged with the activities.

As a school we love to acknowledge students who are working hard or those who have done an amazing job in school. For obvious reasons we are not able to do this at the moment. So instead, we are asking parents to help us out. Why not send us a photo of your child getting stuck into their distance learning and we will post it on our Twitter account?

Feel free to avoid photographing your child’s face if you prefer. Be sure to send us a sentence to explain what work they are doing or how they are helping around the house and we will share the positive messages! Please send these via email to dmckeown@thedeanes.essex.sch.uk

Year 10 Mocks

It would seem that several packages containing the mock papers have been damaged in the post.  In order to ensure you have received all the correct papers I have updated the website to show the papers for each subject - http://www.thedeanes.academy/work/20-april-01-may/year-10/.  If you have any papers missing, please let me know.

How to contact us

Can I also remind you that we want to do what we can to support our students and their families during this period.

In order to help with communication, we have set up a quick form.  By using this form, we will be able to respond to you very quickly and it will allow our reception staff to remain at home.

If you need to contact us during this difficult period, please click here.  The form is also on our website under the 'Contact Us' menu item.

In the meantime, I hope you all stay safe.
