Daily Update

3 March 2021

Dear Parents / Carers

I hope you are well.  Tomorrow, I will be issuing full guidance about the return to school from 08 March 2021.

Vulnerable Students / Students with Critical Worker Parents

Thank you to those who have booked this provision for next week by completing the form as requested.  We have created our staff rota accordingly.

Please ensure your child has a packed lunch and something for break. It is also important for your child to bring their own equipment, including earphones, as they may need them for their lessons.

We have issued Free School Meal vouchers to cover the days that the students are not in school next week.  They equate to:

Year 7     £6.00

Year 8     £12.00

Year 9     £15.00

Year 10   £9.00

Year 11   £3.00

Remote Learning Arrangements for Next Week

On the days that students have their first test, they will not be required to complete any remote learning.  They are not required to wear a uniform when coming onto site for their test.

During the week commencing 08 March, there will not be any live lessons due to the staggered return of students but remote learning will be set according to the timetable below.

Rapid lateral flow testing for households and bubbles of school pupils and staff

Please see attached letter from Mike Gogarty (Director of Public Health and Wellbeing, Essex County Council) and Clare Kershaw (Director of Education, Essex County Council) to parents and carers of school pupils and students about the offer of regular testing for their household.

If you child has borrowed a laptop from the school for use during lockdown, they must return it when they come in for testing next week.  If they are not coming in to have a LTD test, they must bring in the laptop on their first day back.

These laptops are needed for use in school so it is essential that all the laptops are returned.
