School Games Mark and theYouth Sport Trust Quality Mark

The Castle Point and Rochford School Sport Partnership hosted and managed by the Deanes continues to support the development of PE , School Sport and healthy and active lifestyles across Castle Point and Rochford.

Despite numerous changes to government funding since its conception in 2003 , the SSP has grown in strength and coverage. A network of 50 primary schools across Castle Point , Rochford and parts of Basildon receive expert delivery, support and guidance. In recent years this support is based on membership and schools receive bespoke packages to ensure progress is being made at an appropriate pace for all. All services contribute to the outcomes expected from the impact of Primary PE and Sport funding.

In addition the SSP based at The Deanes, hosts and facilitates the national Olympic Legacy Programme ' The School Games'. An initiative to place competitive sport at the heart of schools and also to inspire inactive children to engage and participate. The work across the local area is nationally acclaimed and in September 2016 received recognition by being placed in the top 5% nationally for School Games data and in addition nomination for a special award linked to the Change4life programme.

The Deanes itself currently holds the two highest awards nationally , Gold level for both School Games Mark and the Youth Sport Trust Quality Mark. These awards confirm the exceptional effort and achievement of the Deanes both internally and through the Partnership work in the area of PE and School Sport.

The Deanes is also currently recognised and funded to lead work across Essex in the development of Leadership, Coaching and Volunteering through School Sport and the Health and Wellbeing of young people.
