Exploring African Dance Moves Keeping in Time Traditional vs Modern African Dance
Learn and try at least six African dance movements. Practise how your body can move in different ways to music. Focus on confidence and creativity. Work on moving in time with a piece of music. Build rhythm skills by clapping, stepping and following the beat before dancing to it. Discover at least two different African dance styles (traditional and modern). Try short sequences that show the differences in mood, rhythm and movement.

Dancing at Different Speeds Creating a 32-Beat Sequence Performing Your Routine
Practise dancing the same moves at different speeds (slow, medium, fast). Explore how tempo changes the feel of a routine and improves control Work in pairs or small groups to create a short routine of at least 32 beats using African dance movements and rhythms. Focus on teamwork and responsibility. Take part in a warm-up and cool-down, rehearse your routine, then perform a group dance lasting five minutes to an invited audience. Exploring the symbolism of spring - light, life and rebirth. Students will create a paper lantern, symbolising the hope of spring. Students will explore the symbolism of Holi and create an art piece using powdered chalk or paint. Students will learn the legend of Sakura and create a piece of artwork to represent the meaning behind the story.

Eostre Easter Traditions around the world Easter traditions around the world
Students will explore the pagan meaning of Easter and how Eostre is celebrated today. They use their crafting skills to produce a symbol of new life. Students will explore some of the traditions around eggs and Easter. They will dye an egg (brought from home) and learn about the traditional meanings behind the colours. Students will decorate their dyed eggs and further investigate Easter traditions around the world.

Students will discover different types of documents in the archives that tell us stories from the past. Students will use archives to investigate the Gunpowder Plot 1605 and discover the key roles individuals played. Students will use archives to understand the impact of the plague across Europe and also locally in Essex.

Students will research the impact of the Factory Act on children in Victorian England, showing empathy and comparing their lives. Students will use archives to research the events that led up to the sinking of the Titanic and also the lives of the people on board. What Is Fashion Illustration? Creating an Inspiration Mood Board Learning to Draw the Fashion Figure
In this lesson you will explore what fashion illustration is and how it is used in the fashion industry. You will look at professional examples to see how artists use line, proportion, movement and fabric detail. You will also complete some warm-up drawing activities to help build your confidence. Today you will learn how to collect inspiration for a fashion theme. You will look at designers, runway looks, colours, fabrics and cultural influences, then choose your favourites to build your own mood board. You will start arranging images and adding short annotations to explain your ideas working to a fashion brief. You will learn how to draw a fashion figure (called a croquis) using simple guidelines to help with proportion. You will practise drawing standing poses and poses that show movement. This session helps you prepare for adding clothes and design ideas later in the project.

How to Draw Different Fabrics Designing Your Own Collection Final Designs and Mood Board Presentation
In this session you will learn how to show different fabrics in your drawings, such as silk, denim, wool and leather. You will practise shading, adding texture and creating folds and shine. By the end you will have a small collection of illustrated fabric samples. Using your mood board for inspiration, you will design an outfit based on your chosen theme to suit the fashion brief. You will draw your design on your croquis and add colour, pattern and texture. You will also explain your choices, such as fabrics, silhouette and who your outfit is designed for. In this session, you will complete your final fashion illustrations and mount them alongside your inspirational mood board to create a professional presentation. Once your work is assembled, you will present your designs, explaining how your final pieces meet the client brief and how your chosen inspirations influenced your ideas. You will then write a short evaluation describing the decisions you made, what inspired your designs, and how your outcomes reflect your theme and style.

 Tabletop Masters: Magic the Gathering

Introduction to MTG and Deckbuilding principles. Completing the deck and playtesting. Mini Commander and multi-player games.
Students will learn about how the game works, how to read and interpret cards, how to play with basic rules. Students will understand mana curves and how to construct a 30 card deck. Students will complete their decks and finalise their card choices. Students will then playtest their decks with each other in a series of short matches. Students will learn how to set up a game, track life, and navigate their game boards. Students will add one additional card to their decks which will be their 'Commander' this will simulate the popular alternative gameplay style within Magic the Gathering. Students will then explore how to play four player games instead of 1v1.

Students will compete in a round robin style tournament. Winners will go into one pool, runners up into the next. Simulating MTG tournaments. Approaching a dog. What sort of exercise do dogs need? Basic equipment for walking a dog.
Learn safe, polite, and appropriate ways to approach a dog. Understand the different types of exercise dogs need and the best time to walk them. Learn how to put a collar or harness on a dog calmly and safely, and how to hold the lead correctly.

Walk alongside a dog on several occasions. Allowing the dog safe freedom. Allowing a dog freedom for part of the walk.
Learn how to walk a dog on a lead and the benefits of doing so regularly. Identify safe places on a walk to let the dog run free and understand the importance of clearing up after the dog. To bring together all the learnt knowledge from the previous 5 sessions. To be able to let the dog run free for part of a walk in an identified safe place. To be able to recall and catch the dog and put her back on a lead.

Introduction to Paleontology Classification Fossils
Describe the role of paleontologists and their day to day responsibilities. Discuss the qualities a good paleontologist needs. Work as a group to identify and classify different dinosaurs and prehistoric organisms. Discuss organisms living in different conditions e.g. land, sea and air. Define the term extinction and how we use the fossil record to identify characteristics of different organisms. Look at fossils and identify key features of them.

Dinosaurs in the media Debate - What is the best dinosaur? Summary - Burning questions
Discuss different times dinosaurs and paleontology have appeared in the media and discuss how they are presented. Work independently or as part of a group to persuasively argue that your favourite dinosaur is the best. To listen and respect other people's opinions. Summarise our learning from the last 5 sessions. Work as a group to answer any remaining questions. Discuss the future of paleontology and hypothesise about potential breakthroughs in science.

Wellness in the Woods Wind Chimes & Mobiles Wind Chimes & Mobiles
Students will learn about the practices of mandala creation and shinrin-yoku (forest bathing). Students will then look for and collect their own natural materials to create a spring nature mandala. Students will participate in a forest bathing inspired meditation. Students will learn to forage for a range of materials to create nature-based art. Students will then use their forage materials and given tools to create a set of natural wind chimes and mobiles. This will take two sessions. Students will then use their previously-foraged materials and given tools to complete their set of natural wind chimes and mobiles.

An Introduction to Hapa Zome Ojo De Dios Wooden Disc Weaving
Students will learn about the traditional Japanese art form of hapa zome and tataki zome. Students will then forage for their own natural materials and create a plant print. Students will learn about the traditions of Ojo de Dios. Students will then create their own Ojo de Dios using a mixture of man-made and naturally-collected materials. Students will learn how to safely use a palm drill. Students will use a mix of natural and man-made materials to weave a geometric pattern onto a wooden disc.
